The Royal Forest Route is an ideal place to visit and 'chill out'

A 20 mile circular drive through the heart of the Forest of Dean

The Royal Forest Route is an ideal place to visit and 'chill out' during this winter. The route is a 20 mile circular drive through the heart of the Forest of Dean taking in many of the best natural and man-made attractions in the area. With no leaves on the trees you can see for miles through the stunning woodland which makes it the perfect walking or driving experience at this time of year.

The May Hill Walk - A walk from the Yew Tree Inn, Cliffords Mesne to the summit of May Hill with an opportunity to take in stunning views, especially on a Winter's morning in the crisp, fresh air. May Hill's peak features 100 trees planted for Queen Victoria's Jubilee. They can be seen on the skyline from over 50 miles away. The path is mainly in woodland and rises steeply which may be difficult for the elderly and less fit. Start anytime at the car park at the Yew Tree Inn, Cliffords Mesne.
