Winter Wiltshire/Dorset Borders to lift your mood
A new range of walking breaks are being launched by Foot Trails on the Wiltshire/Dorset Borders to lift the mood during the winter months.
From Now to February, Winter Warmer weekends will combine gentle walks through medieval villages where ancient chimneys furl wood smoke with hearty country pub lunches by the fire. The breaks can be taken as a guided weekend, in the company of a small group, or self-guided, for those who prefer to be more independent.
“Winter is a magical time of year to walk” said Guide David Howell. “You can’t beat the sight of a clear blue sky, when all is peaceful, the frost crunches underfoot, and you can smell the wood smoke as it furls out of the chimney tops.” Along the 6 & 4 mile trails, guests can expect to see misty lakes, skeleton trees, hedgerows of red winter berries & festive villages. Hearty lunches will be offered at local inns. Evenings will be spent in front of a crackling fire, with dinner and ale.
Guided weekends start on November 18th, December 9th, January 6th and February 10th. Self-guided breaks can start on any date. Foot Trails provide easy to follow trails so you do not have to be able to read a map. Guided Winter Warmers are priced at £225 per person, Self-guided, £195 per person.
